Scholarship Overview

The University of Sheffield provides automatic tuition fee reductions for international students starting their studies in September 2027. Undergraduate students can receive £2,500 per year, while postgraduate students from specific countries qualify for a £7,000 reduction. For those requiring comprehensive financial support, the university is also a participating institution for the fully funded Chevening Scholarship.

Can Pakistani Students Apply?

Pakistani students are eligible to apply for admission to the University of Sheffield and the Chevening Scholarship program. However, the university's automatic £7,000 postgraduate scholarship is currently restricted to students from ten specific countries and regions (India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, and Vietnam). Pakistani students interested in postgraduate funding should focus on the competitive Chevening Scholarship, which is open to citizens of Pakistan.

What the Funding Covers

The International Undergraduate Scholarship provides a tuition fee reduction of £2,500 per year, totaling up to £10,000 for four-year degrees. The International Postgraduate Scholarship for specific regions offers a £7,000 tuition fee discount. Chevening Scholars receive full coverage for tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, return economy-class flights, and visa application costs.

Who Is Eligible

To be considered for the undergraduate award, you must be classified as an overseas student, be self-funded, and study full-time. You must also select the University of Sheffield as your firm or insurance choice via UCAS. Postgraduate applicants from the eligible ten countries must accept their offer of admission by the university's July deadline. Chevening applicants must possess an undergraduate degree, two years of work experience, and commit to returning to Pakistan for at least two years after their studies.

How the Selection Works

The two main university scholarships are awarded automatically to eligible applicants who meet the offer conditions by the relevant deadline. There is no separate application form for these awards. Chevening, by contrast, involves a competitive selection process including an online application, interviews at the British High Commission, and a rigorous review of your leadership and career plans.

How to Apply

  1. Search for your desired course on the University of Sheffield website and confirm you meet the academic and English language requirements.
  2. Apply for admission through the official university portal or UCAS.
  3. For the automatic tuition reductions, accept your admission offer before the specified cutoff date.
  4. If applying for the Chevening Scholarship, submit your application separately through the official Chevening system by the October 6, 2026 deadline.
